Self-empowering Affect-Oriented Hypnotherapy
Hypnosis, sanctioned by the American Medical Association and the American Psychological Association, is the natural, built-in pathway to the subconscious mind, our inner self, which is the essence of who we are.

Welcome to Inner Totality Hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy resolves problems at the root level, in the subconscious mind where they originate. People are often surprised at:

  • The gentle, organic effectiveness of hypnotherapy.
  • How simple the solution is after having tried so many things.
  • That the core issue is usually not at all what they had expected.
  • The great range of issues that hypnotherapy can help with.
Improve self-esteem and confidence
Overcome fears and limiting beliefs
Fix that bad feeling inside (you know the one I mean)
Resolve dependencies (drugs, alcohol, food, etc)
Eliminate bad habits
Increase creative, professional and athletic performance
Self-discovery, find your true calling
And much, much more...

Hello and thank you for visiting my web site. Would you like to know a little more about hypnotherapy and what it can do for you? Great! For starters, please answer the following question-

If you accidentally touch a hot stove should you:
a) Immediately pull away.
b) Tell yourself "It's all in your mind, just get over it."
c) Try to find some way to distract yourself from the problem.

If you guessed A then you are correct. Why? Because it hurts! Pain is a feeling that means danger, take action now!

OK, since you did so well on the first question here's another.

If you have feelings or limiting beliefs that make you feel bad or are holding you back in life should you:
a) Discover the root cause and take steps to correct it.
b) Tell yourself "It's all in your mind, just get over it."
c) Try to find some way to distract yourself from the problem.

Once again the correct answer is A, though more often than not we will do B and/or C.

Trust your feelings
All feelings, whether externally caused (like the stove example above) or internally generated come from the subconscious mind, it's your inner voice sending you an important message. Therefore all feelings are good, even the ones we don't like. In fact, these bad feelings are especially good because they can lead to big positive changes in your life. Left unchecked these feelings will intensify and can ultimately lead to physical symptoms.

The language of feelings
Long before we developed spoken and written language the subconscious mind communicated to the conscious mind in the language of feelings, and this is still true. As our society has grown more and more intellectualized we have lost touch with our inner language, the language of feelings, leaving us confused by messages(feelings) that we don't understand. Fortunately it is very easy to reconnect to your feelings and understand their meaning through hypnotherapy.

How does hypnotherapy work?
Rest assured that your subconscious mind is always doing what it believes is best for you, even when it doesn't seem that way. Like a powerful computer, the subconscious mind works creatively to achieve the goals you've set for yourself, and like a computer the results are only as good as the programs it follows (I hesitate to use the term program since our minds are far beyond computers, but in this limited sense the analogy works.) Affect-oriented hypnotherapy works with the subconscious mind, using feelings and emotions as guides to identify and correct erroneous perceptions, creating in their place 'programs' that are in alignment with our true best interests. Click here for a more detailed description or feel free to give me a call for more information about how this works.

Will it work for me?
As with any healing modality there are no guarantees, however hypnotherapy has two very powerful things in its favor.

1) The changes you seek come from within you, not from a drug, a teaching or any other external force. The solution is already inside of you and your own motivation is the biggest factor in discovering and activating that solution. Even with physical ailments such as cancer and other serious diseases it is well known that a patient's chance for recovery is strongly influenced by his or her mental attitude and desire for recovery. Are you really ready for a change?

2) We are understanding more and more how disease originates in the mind and that the physical outcomes that we call disease and illness are often the symptoms of mental disharmony. Curing a symptom will only lead to new symptoms, which we call chronic illness. The truth is that the subconscious mind has something to say and it will not give up until it has been heard, and then, seemingly miraculously the problem disappears. With hypnotherapy we are dealing with issues at the source, addressing the cause, not merely the effect.

What types of issues can hypnotherapy help with?
It's impossible to list the myriad ways in which hypnotherapy can be of benefit. Basically, if it involves the mind (and very little doesn't) it's a potential application for hypnotherapy.

Hypnotherapy is used daily to bring about positive change for both physical and emotional complaints, chronic pain, stress reduction and the list goes on. Additionally hypnosis is useful for improving something that you're already good at such as creative or athletic pursuits. If you are curious if hypnotherapy can help with an issue in your life please call or email me, I will be happy to discuss it with you.
